Importing your bookmarks

Importing your bookmarks

James Boudreaux

As you can tell, google chrome sync does not work with chromium. You are probably now wondering, how do I redo my bookmarks bar without having to go to each website again. That’s why we’re here to tell you about importing your bookmarks on raspberry pi.

The things that you are going to need is another computer signed into chrome, and a USB drive that is compatible with your computer. Then open Chrome(or safari) on the other computer and right click on your bookmarks bar. In the last section there is a selection that says bookmarks manager. Click it and it will open into a new tab. As you can see, All of your bookmarks are lined up in a row. None of this really matters. What your looking for is a three period icon on the top right corner of the page. When you click it, you have the options to add new things to your bar or import or export your bookmarks. Click export and save them to your drive.

Once you have done all of that, go to your raspberry pi, plug in the USB drive then open Chromium. Right click on the bar to get back to bookmarks settings. Then click the three period icon on the top right corner again and this time, click import. Select your drive and click the exported file. It might take a minute, but soon your bookmarks will show up in a folder called imported bookmarks on your bar. Remove your bookmarks from the folder and place them how you like.

If you want to bookmarks bar to always stay on your browser, instead of only when you have a new tab, right click on the bar again and on the bottom click show bookmarks bar.

That’s all on importing your bookmarks on raspberry pi! Good luck to you!
