Happy Sunday!! I was thinking about a title for this post. I thought about first calling it, “The Second day of the rest of our lives.” My last day of work with DCS was Friday, and yesterday would have technically been the first day of the rest of our lives, but I will tell you that yesterday flew by, and I honestly don’t remember everything that we did.
I also thought about titling it, “The Day Before, The Day Before.”
On Saturday we had our last sale until about noon. It started early without us. I decided since it was raining it would be ok to sleep in a little. Well about 8 I went to wander inside to use the restroom, and there were already 3 people in our sale. So I jumped into action and off we went. We offered the best prices in town (mostly free) and a lot of stuff walked away. Then came phase 2. Phase 2 is broken into 2 parts. Sorting through and determining what goes to the thrift store, and what goes to the dump. And of course as we are going through these phases, people are still trying to come buy things. So we got it all sorted out, and with help with a friend from work, we took numerous trips to the thrift store and a couple to the dump, and finally #thepurgeisdone! We have a few things to move to storage, but for the most part, we have minimalized!
Our weekend started off with a bang, Friday evening, Anthony Fell out of our Cherry Tree, and broke his wrist. So he, Harmony and Emmett spent the better part of Friday night at the ER. This potentially could delay our departure a little bit. They did not put on a cast, just a soft one, and we have to try and get in Tuesday for the real one. Hopefully we can get that done and be on our way.
It’s been amazing the support we have gotten from family, friends and co-workers. I have to admit, sometimes when I am telling people about our plan, it does sound pretty crazy. But now that our plan has come full circle, it truly feels like the right thing to do. So thank you all for your support.
